Eighteenth September marked the opening of the fifth edition of the Saudi Maritime & Logistics Congress, taking placeat Dhahran Exhibition Centre, Dammam, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia until 19th September- sponsored by the Ministery of Transport and Logistic Services - held with Founding Partners, Bahri and Seatrade Maritime; main partners, the Saudi Ports Authority (Mwani) and the Transport General Authority (TGA), as well as strategic partners, Saudi Aramco. Vice Minister of Transport & Logistic Services (on behalf of Minister of Transport & Logistic Services); Mayor of Eastern Province and President of Saudi Ports Authority (MAWANI) officially attended the event.

Highlights from the first day included a special award presented on stage to Mr. Gu Jinshan – Chairman of the Board of Shanghai International Ports Group (SIPG) and the President of China’s Association of Ports and Harbours (CAPH). He was awarded by Mr. Chris Hayman, Chairman Emeritus of Seatrade Maritime, the prestigious Seatrade Maritime Lifetime Achievement Award as part of Seatrade Maritime’s global awards programme.

Mr. Gu Jinshan delivered a speech to express his gratitude to the organizing committee and organizers of Seatrade Maritime, and said that this award is not only a personal encouragement to himself, but also a recognition to SIPG. He, on behalf of SIPG, to  express his heartfelt thanks to the customers, partners, colleagues in the shipping sector and from all walks of life, as well as all families for their care and support over the years.
